about.
Altered Views is the evolving art project of an artist born in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, now based in Bucharest. With a background in philology and a journey through portrait shoots, street photography, and experimental projects, her work merges contemporary photography with abstract expressionist painting.
Her drawings and paintings — in watercolor and acrylic — explore color, improvisation, and subconscious imagery, where unexpected creatures and forms emerge. These works connect naturally with her photography, which spans mobile, street, black-and-white, macro, and conceptual art. Using both digital tools and a vintage Kodak EasyShare, she captures accidental moments, shifting textures, and emotional landscapes.
The project reflects themes of migration, identity, and belonging, shaped by the rupture of war and relocation. Through photography and painting, Altered Views seeks honesty, curiosity, and human connection, breaking away from rigid categories. It is a space where abstract expressionism meets contemporary photography — a living process of art and transformation.
